  11.    QUESTION:  How do I install Redhook's Revenge to my hard drive?
  12.  
  13.    ANSWER:    We  have provided a simple installation program so  that
  14.               you can install Redhook's Revenge to your hard drive:
  15.              1.  Insert the diskette into the floppy drive.
  16.              2.  Type A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL) then press [Enter].
  17.              3.  Follow  the  instructions  as  they  appear  on  your
  18.                  screen.  You can install it to any directory that you
  19.                  want to, but for the purposes of this  documentation,
  20.                  we assume that you will install it to C:\REDHOOK.

  23.    QUESTION:  I get the message "VGA monitor required." when I try  to
  24.               run  Redhook's  Revenge.  I know I have a  VGA  monitor.
  25.               What can I do?
  26.  
  27.    ANSWER:    Some super VGA and monochrome VGA cards aren't  detected
  28.               by  our  video  card  checking  routine.   If  you   are
  29.               confident  that  your  monitor  has  a  VGA  mode,   run
  30.               Redhook's  Revenge  with this command:  REDHOOK /M.   We
  31.               don't  guarantee  that this will fix your  problem,  but
  32.               this command will bypass our video checking routine, and
  33.               the above error will no longer appear.

  36.    QUESTION:  Can I run Redhook's Revenge from a floppy drive?

  38.    ANSWER:    Yes,  by entering the command REDHOOK, but the game  may
  39.               run slower than it would on a hard drive.

  42.    QUESTION:  My mouse works in Microsoft Windows, why doesn't it work
  43.               in Redhook's Revenge?
  44.  
  45.    ANSWER:    Windows  has special built-in drivers to support   mice.
  46.               Our  software  looks for a Microsoft   compatible  mouse
  47.               driver which is loaded when you  turn on your  computer.
  48.               A  diskette  should  have  come with  your  mouse  which
  49.               contains  MOUSE.SYS,   MOUSE.COM or similar  files.  Try
  50.               placing   the    command  DEVICE = MOUSE.SYS   in   your
  51.               CONFIG.SYS  file  or  the   command  MOUSE.COM  in  your
  52.               AUTOEXEC.BAT  file.    These  are  the  files  that  DOS
  53.               executes  when you  turn on your computer, and  if  your
  54.               mouse  is  Microsoft compatible, your mouse  should  now
  55.               work.

  61.    QUESTION:  I  get the message "Not enough memory" and  my   program
  62.               doesn't run. What can I do?
  63.  
  64.    ANSWER:    You  need a computer with at least 640K memory  to   run
  65.               our software. Run the CHKDSK command to make  sure  that
  66.               you  have "655360 total bytes memory".   The  last  line
  67.               tells  you how many bytes your  computer has  free.   If
  68.               your  computer  has  less than   546000  bytes  free,  a
  69.               program loaded in your  CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT  file
  70.               is using part of your Conventional memory.

  72.               DOS  6.0  and 6.2 comes with a utility  called  MEMMAKER
  73.               which  is  designed to optimize your  computer's  memory
  74.               resources.  Enter the command MEMMAKER at the DOS prompt
  75.               to run this program.

  77.               If  you  don't  have MEMMAKER,  locate  a  knowledgeable
  78.               person  and ask  him/her to help you get these  programs
  79.               out of conventional memory and load them "high".

  82.    QUESTION:  My  sound card doesn't seem to work properly.   I  can't
  83.               hear the pirates talking through my Soundblaster.

  85.    ANSWER:    The only pirate that actually has a voice is Blackbeard.
  86.               In  the shareware version he speaks only on the  opening
  87.               screens; in the registered version he talks everywhere.

  89.               Most  sound cards are Soundblaster compatible.  If  your
  90.               sound  card gives you problems, enter this command  from
  91.               DOS:  REDHOOK /C.   This  will  bypass  the  sound  card
  92.               initialization routine and turn off the sound.
